FIELD. FACTORY. FREIGHT. ONE COMPANY.
MALAWI’S HEMP, EAST AFRICA’S BIOPLASTIC ALTERNATIVE.
We grow industrial hemp in northern Malawi and turn it into compostable pellets, film, and tableware to replace imported, fossil-based plastics across a region where single-use plastic is now against the law.
BIOPLASTIC PRODUCTS
Durable bioplastic products designed for everyday business needs.
A Region That Banned Petroleum-Based Plastic Before It Had Viable & Scalable Alternatives.
Kenya banned single-use plastic bags in 2017. Tanzania followed in 2019. Malawi’s own ban became fully enforceable in January 2025, after nearly a decade tied up in court. All three laws are real and in force. What’s missing is a compliant, affordable, locally made alternative. Today, the region imports almost all of its compostable packaging at a landed cost that puts it out of reach for most local manufacturers and retailers.
ONE COMPANY, THE WHOLE CHAIN.
Most compostable packaging sold in East Africa is imported, shipped in, marked up, and exposed to currency swings and shipping delays. At Regreen, we own the chain instead: the land the hemp grows on, the factory that processes it, and the freight route that gets it to customers.
GROW
Hemp is cultivated on company-owned land at Lusangazi alongside a growing network of smallholder outgrower farmers.
PROCESS
Harvested biomass is processed at our own Mzuzu facility into a proprietary hemp-fiber bioresin.
DISTRIBUTE
Finished pellets, film, and tableware move across the Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya corridor to converters and retailers.

A COMPANY BUILT AROUND PEOPLE AND CARE FOR LAND, NOT JUST PRODUCTS.
Regreen is designed around a smallholder outgrower network in northern Malawi, focusing on farming households growing hemp as a genuine alternative to declining crops like tobacco. Processing is dry and mechanical rather than water-intensive. And every tonne of compostable material produced locally is a tonne that does not have to be shipped in from overseas.
